“Green Baby Garden” is a social enterprise organised by Caritas. It is not onlya green movement but itis also a social enterprise to support and employ the teenage or single mothers for recycling, sorting and selling second-hand baby goods in the community. Ultimately, it encourages them to re-enter the job market and have the ability to take care of their families. The design of the project is based on the concept of environmental conservation and the rationales of social work service (5 Rs).
The concept of conservation to Recycle, Refurbishment and Reuse, has been adopted to process the baby goods while the rationales of social work, to Rebuild the working ability and confidence of the young mothers and to Reignite their hope in life will be the guiding principles for the project. This project which is funded by the “Enhancing Self-Reliance through District Partnership Programme” will last for 3 years.
